Monday, July 27th, 2009: This week he let his bat do the talking. That's why Valentín Deleón of the Cross Plains Raccoons was named the Prospects League Player of the Week.
For the week the 30-year-old left fielder batted .526 (10-19) with no home runs, 3 runs and 6 RBIs.
So far this season Deleón is batting .373 with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 47 hits in 126 at-bats, 20 walks and a .457 OBP. Deleón has played in 32 games. |

Monday, July 27th, 2009: Albert Ritter is respected by most Picton Zombies fans for his no-frills style of play. The 20-year-old right fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Rookies League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .471 average (8-17) with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
Thus far this season Ritter is hitting .331 with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 118 at-bats and has played in 32 games. |
 | Morales Socks it to Penguins, Cracks 5 Hits
Sunday, July 26th, 2009: Bolton left fielder Tomás Morales really lit up the Georgina Penguins with a 5-hit barrage today at Penguins Stadium -- a performance that sparked the Kings to a 55-17 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game and said, "Sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
T. Morales singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, walked in the 7th, walked in a run in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This season Morales has hit at a .319 clip with 23 RBIs, 3 home runs and 13 runs scored. |
