Monday, April 12th, 2010: 20-year-old Walt Yorke sent shock waves through MLIB II Single A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Western League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Yorke made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .444 average, 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs and 8 runs batted in.
Where the Orlando Magic right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Yorke certainly made his mark last week.

 | Great Week for Yarmouth's José Lozano
Monday, April 12th, 2010: José Lozano burst onto the Eastern League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie shortstop for Yarmouth garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 24-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .481 (13-27) with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs last week.

| Hits Galore: Lozano Drills 5 Hits
Friday, April 9th, 2010: José Lozano really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Sturgeons Ballpark, the Yarmouth shortstop blistered the Anaheim Strongmen for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 8-7 victory.
"Lozano was too tough to get out today," the Strongmen skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
José Lozano singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Raúl García in the 8th, hit a solo-shot off A.C. McNeil in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This year Lozano is batting .455 with 2 home runs. He has scored 7 runs and driven in 2.
