Monday, July 27th, 2009: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Sub League 2, but last week Malcolm Swan of the Shasta County Knights reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Swan rocked opposing pitching for a .526 average (10-19), 1 home run and 3 RBIs to come away with the award.
This season Swan is hitting .278 with 73 hits, 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, scored 37 runs and played in 65 games. |

Monday, July 27th, 2009: António Guevara burst onto the Sub League 1 stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie right fielder for Scottsdale garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 19-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .700 (7-10) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs last week.
So far this season Guevara is hitting .381 with 3 home runs. |
