Monday, April 12th, 2010: Today the Sub League 2 announced the Player of the Week Award. This week's honoree is Chesapeake shortstop Roberto Gómez. When he steps into the batter's box, it's usually bad news for pitchers.
For the week he batted .478 (11-23) with 4 home runs and 13 RBIs.

Monday, April 12th, 2010: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Sub League 1, but last week Milij Lukasewicz of the Baton Rouge Xtreme reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Lukasewicz rocked opposing pitching for a .276 average (8-29), 4 home runs and 18 RBIs to come away with the award.

 | Carrillo 6-8 for Xtreme
Sunday, April 11th, 2010: Víctor Carrillo was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 6 hits and leading the Xtreme to a 33-0 victory over the Ashland Superstars.
After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.
In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Baton Rouge first baseman said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."
Nobody was at home today as Carrillo finished the day with 6 hits in 8 at-bats and a line in the record book.
Víctor Carrillo flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 5th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Carrillo is presently batting .404 with 2 home runs, 19 runs scored and 13 RBIs. His OBP is .517.
