 | Edgar's Condition Worse, Gets Another Setback Saturday, July 25th, 2009: The Sydney College Blacksmiths trainer was the bearer of bad news today as it was learned Alan Edgar's injury will keep him out of the lineup for longer than expected. The Blacksmiths starting pitcher is being treated for a fractured elbow. During a routine exam, Edgar's condition was found to be worse than originally diagnosed and he is now expected to rehab at least another 3 months.
|  | Cong Shaw Named Premier EAST Batsman Monday, July 6th, 2009: 2009 was a special season for Grande Prairie College first baseman Cong Shaw and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Eastern Outstanding Hitter Award.
Shaw compiled a .284 batting average and a .410 on-base percentage this year. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Western Outstanding Hitter Award.
Takata hit for a .489 average while collecting 65 hits, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 33 home runs, 84 RBIs and scoring 64 times. | |
